SIBLING SUPPORT: A group for brothers and sisters of those
affected by mental illness
"The Loft" at 1522 N. Washington, Suite 208
Passages Family Support is excited to announce a bi-monthly support group for
youth ages 14-24 affected by the mental illness of a loved one. The group will
offer discussion topics, games, social and recreational opportunities, and more.
Youth must be part of a family currently enrolled in Passages to participate.

Youth CHAT! (Conversations about Health, Associations, and
Trust) meets every Wednesday 3:30 - 5 pm at "The Loft" at 1522 N.
Washington, Suite 208, in the N. Central Building
- games - movies - friends - fun
Youth CHAT provides youth 14-21 currently enrolled in Passages Family Support
with a safe place to vent their frustrations, ideas, and experiences with a group of
peers they can relate to. Youth CHAT is a great way to meet new friends, and
free food and fun are provided at every meeting. Meetings are staffed by a
Passages Peer Counselor, but are led and directed by youth, for youth. Youth
choose the topics and many of the activities, and all youth are required to abide
by an agreed upon set of ground rules to assure everyone feels welcome and
safe. Youth CHAT is sponsored by Passages Family Support, a program of
Volunteers of America.

The Dad's Group: Support for fathers of children with a mental
health diagnosis - brought to you by Passages Family Support
Next meeting: Wednesday September 15th, 6 pm to 8 pm
525 W 2nd Ave., basement
Are you the father of a child with a mental health diagnosis? A group has been
created for you. Join us as we swap stories, share experiences, and discuss
issues with other dads who can relate and know the difficulties we face. This
group is for fathers of children currently enrolled in Passages. The support group
is led by a Passages certified peer specialist and a father currently enrolled in
Passages. The first meeting will involve assessing what participants are looking
for in a dad's group, brainstorming future discussion topics, and planning for future
meetings.
