and a chapter of the Child and Adolescent Network of the National Alliance
on Mental Illness (NAMI)

Families, youth, and children living in Spokane County and facing mental
health challenges are welcome at Passages, a peer support organization
that strives to form healthy partnerships with clients by providing
recovery-based support services, coordination of care, classes, and
advocacy.


Certified Peer Counselors offer one-on-one support, education, and advocacy for
you and your child.  

We also offer a monthly support group and 10 week parent empowerment classes.

About Passages: our goals:  

A.  To ensure that families who have children and youth with complex mental health needs (including
emotional, behavioral or mental disorders) have adequate information to enable them to access the services
provided by current private and public mental health systems.

B.  To help families understand current issues and changes in mental health care systems, and how these
impact families.

C.  To provide families with training, resources and supportive systems to enable them to maximize positive
outcomes for their children or youth.

D.  To inform and educate families, educators, researchers, mental health providers, and state and national
policymakers about mental health issues related to children and youth.



The population we serve:  Primary caregivers of children/adolescents enrolled in the Spokane RSN.

Passages Family Support provides social support to families who have a child receiving services in the
Spokane County public mental health system.

Certified Peer Counselors assist families in learning to advocate for their child in schools and social service
systems. Additionally, Certified Peer Counselors help families identify goals that promote resiliency and assist
them in identifying services and activities to help them reach these goals.
